Maddie Ames

Hi! I am Maddie Ames! I am a multimedia journalist at The Omaha World-Herald. I recently graduated from UNL, majoring in journalism and advertising and public relations major. My most recent role was serving as the editor-in-chief of The Daily Nebraskan.

At The Daily Nebraskan, I wrote articles across multiple sections. I have been to Board of Regents meetings covering the approval of alcohol at university events and senior art capstones.  In the past year, I spent most of my time working hands-on with reporters as they write stories and I help through the editing process.

My passion revolves around storytelling and helping others tell their stories.

I plan to continue this passion by working in a newsroom, and becoming an editor for a publication one day. Along with my work at The Daily Nebraskan, I served as an orientation leader for New Student Enrollment at UNL and as a support specialist for the New Student Enrollment office. I served as the communications chair for the University Program Council and as a brand content intern at Hudl.

Outside of work and school, I spend my time traveling for concerts, watching football and adjusting my fantasy league. Please email me if you have any questions or would like to get in contact.
